QUEEN’S COURT HOTEL BUDAPEST, THE ECO-FRIENDLY HOTEL
Our hotel aims to protect the environment and ensure long-term sustainability. Please note that higher consumption does not necessarily result in greater comfort. Here are a few recommendations that you can follow to help protect our environment:
OPTIMAL TEMPERATURE
Please set the room thermostat to the energy saver mode position to save energy. The standard room temperature in the hotel is 21°C in summer and 23°C in winter. If you feel warm, please adjust the heating/cooling instead of opening the window. When airing the room, keeping the terrace door open, or leaving the room, please turn off the air conditioning unit.
ENERGY AND LIGHTING WHERE NECESSARY
Make use of natural light as much as possible. Do not leave the lights on or operate machines or devices when they are not needed. Please remember to turn off the TV before going to bed. When leaving the room, the lights and electrical devices that do not require continuous power are automatically turned off thanks to the room occupancy sensor.
WATER, ONLY AS MUCH AS REALLY NEEDED
Do not let the water run while brushing your teeth, or when soaping yourself during a shower or shaving. Take a shower instead of a bath – this way, you will use five times less water. Use cold or lukewarm water if hot water is not absolutely necessary. Please be mindful of towel usage to help reduce water consumption, wastewater production, and the use of chemicals.
SEPARATE WASTE COLLECTION
Please hand in used batteries and accumulators at the hotel reception. For selective waste collection, place glass and plastic containers, as well as paper waste, next to the room’s trash bin, but away from walkways.
OUR HOTEL’S MAIN FEATURES AND ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
- Every hotel room has large windows with natural lighting, and most of them have a balcony.
- The equipment in the rooms is energy-efficient.
- Our hotel uses recycled paper hand towels and toilet paper, water-saving taps and toilet tanks, and energy-efficient light bulbs and fixtures.
- Room textiles and bed linens are changed every three days, helping to significantly reduce washing by-products such as water and detergent.
- We organize regular tourist programs for guests to showcase the natural and cultural attractions of the area.
- Bicycle rental and electric bicycle charging are available at the hotel.
- Whenever possible, we purchase supplies in bulk and large quantities, avoid unnecessary packaging, and prefer local suppliers.
- Organic products are available to guests at our food and beverage outlets.
- Hotel staff receive regular environmental training.
- Our hotel follows the guidelines of the Green Hotel Program of the Hungarian Hotel and Restaurant Association.
